The board of reinsurance giant Swiss Re is proposing the re-election of current chairman Sergio P. Ermotti at the company’s annual general meeting (AGM) of shareholders on April 12.
According to the agenda of the General Assembly seen by insurance businessthe board also wants Karen Gavan, Joachim Oechslin, Deanna Ong, Jay Ralph, Joerg Reinhardt, Philip K. Ryan, Sir Paul Tucker, Jacques de Vaucleroy and Larry Zimpleman reappointed as directors.
Additionally, Vanessa Lau and Pia Tischhauser are up for election as new board members. Renato Fassbind and Susan L. Wagner are not running for re-election.
“On behalf of my colleagues, I would like to thank Sue and Renato for their great dedication and commitment to Swiss Re over many years,” Ermotti said in a statement.
“Both of them strongly contributed to the strategic development of our company. His governance guidance and expertise will be sorely missed. We wish them all the best for the future.”
The election proposal of all the aforementioned is for a period of one year. Ermotti has been on Swiss Re’s board of directors since 2020 and chairman since 2021.
