Cheap, fast, very filling and starchy, it’s <$1/person. This one is useful if you have surplus boiled potatoes from the day before. It does take a while to prepare though, it's active cooking not passive so I don't do it that often. Although it tastes very good.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of potatoes
  • 6-8 cylinders of mystery meat (hot dogs)
  • peppers
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 small can of tomato paste

As:

  1. Peel the potatoes and boil them.
  2. While they boil, chop the onion and put them to brown in a large pot.
  3. While they are frying, cut the sausages into slices and add them to the onions.
  4. While stirring the onions and sausage occasionally, cut the potatoes into finger-thick slices.
  5. Continuing to cut the potatoes, add a tablespoon of paprika to the pot along with the milk and tomato paste. Remove.
  6. Add the potatoes and mix everything. Made.

Overall success depends on how soft the potatoes are. Less is generally better. If you pressure cook them, do not pre-slice them. It’s not that I did something like that
