Yesterday’s Twitter thread about inflation and the possibility that the Bank of England has now created an interest price spiral was widely read. These were the data this morning in the main tweet:

I recently read a report from an NGO that their media team was delighted to have generated 1 million social media impressions in one year. Overall my tweets hit close to 2 million yesterday. You may need to pay more attention to this platform after largely ignoring it for a while.

The result was that he was busy yesterday, talking to reporters, being on air (LBC with Shelagh Fogarty being the most prominent) and talking to Owen Jones for 45 minutes on his show.

Today seems to be busy too. I start with some local BBC radio. Then I’ll go on Politics Live on BBC 2 shortly after 12, and I’m booked for Radio 4 tonight.

The idea that the Bank of England needs to do something very different at this point will at least get aired.
