The Canopy team is excited to share the most impactful releases coming to you in 2022. In the true holiday spirit, sing along with some of our canopians here as you browse more in-depth information on these 12 game-changing features.

🎶 The 12th day of Christmas Canopy gave me back my time with…

12 The most secure cloud-based query management suite (2FA)

Two-factor authentication (2FA) helps tax professionals who want to reduce the risk of their account being compromised. It provides a second layer of security to make it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain account access.

eleven Business Organizers
The Organizer enables professionals to quickly collect and organize tax information for clients filing business returns in one easy step. You can send the Organizer to your client to fill it out or fill it out yourself. Tax Organizer also allows you to conveniently upload any relevant tax documents to be stored in Canopy.

10 Secure links and more electronic signatures without portals for me
You do not need to be invited to the client portal to sign documents. Your doctor may choose to send an electronic signature request via email, using secure links.

9. Comments and @mentions with my team
Using comments allows you to tag other team members within Canopy to improve internal communication.

8. [QBO] classes and locations
In Quickbooks Online (QBO), there are several ways to group or organize your services to get information about your sales and inventory. Categories, classes, and locations are a means of classification that allow you to generate reports with additional layers or segments. The primary way to classify transactions is to assign them to specific accounts, such as sales, purchases, or other financial items.

7. Workflow automation
Automation is applied to tasks, subtasks, or customer requests (within a task). You can add it in the task workspace after creating a task or subtask. Automation is configured with conditions and actions, or you can think of it as “if-then statements.”

6. A backup drive we call CVD (Canopy Virtual Drive)
You can use the virtual drive to access your files from Canopy on your desktop, an environment you’re probably already used to. Basically, the virtual drive is practically awesome for document management and rivals the prowess of pizza delivery trackers.

5…stars…reviews! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We’re not one to pat ourselves on the back, but we’re not going to pretend we didn’t get some awards either.

Four. Automatic retry transcripts
Canopy can connect to the IRS through Canopy’s unique API. Once logged in, you’ll be able to request transcripts quickly and easily without needing to log in again or complete any additional steps.

3. Payments without invoice (advances)
Account payments (sometimes called advances or unbilled payments) provide customers with the ability to make non-specific payments from their account balance. Customers can usually make bill payments if they want to prepay for a service they know is coming, or prefer to let their accountant decide which bill to pay.

2. Resized task columns
Column widths can be adjusted in the Canopy task pane and can be saved as a filtered view. This gives you the ability to see more of the details that matter to you and less of what you don’t want to see.

…one. My profile picture as a selfie 🎶
Updating your Canopy profile information includes updating your username or password. To get started, click on your profile and choose “settings” from the pop-up menu.
